Questions From The Mind of Compassion

Why does it take something drastic to happen before we wake up and realize what it is that we had all along?
Why does someone have to be happy or sad before writing or singing a song?

What are we going to do about getting the "hate" gene out of our genetic code?
Why do we take so long to make a payment to which it is owed?

Why are people so vicious, wicked and rude?
Why are they always looking for a victim to whom they can be crude?

Why is medication pushed upon our young when we tell them to avoid drugs?
How can we keep those we love away from dangerous and heartless thugs?

Are we so blinded by meaningless psychological excuses that we forget who and what we really are?
Are not drug-induced minds as hurtful as being run over by a car?

Why is suicide the answer for those who are emotionally hurting?
Can you not hear what it is that they are blurting?

Screaming HELP ME!!  HELP ME!!
Do you not know what state of life they wish they could be?

Why do we ignore all their cries for help?
Are we really so callous to what they were dealt?

Can you even tell the difference of wanting attention and needing a little love?
Do you really see the whole picture by looking down from up above?

Could you ever take the time just to show you care?
Regardless of their imperfections, a weary soul is laid bare.

BOTTOM LINE: With compassion comes understanding. Are you willing to take the time to understand the needs of others without being selfish of your own wants and desires? Or, are you causing pain on others because you yourself are hurting also and do not want to be alone in your sorrow?
