shape shifter

shape shifting silently
out there in the night
as she stands at her door
outlined by the light
openly moving forward
cold fur against her leg
asking for her touch
but refusing to beg
proud cat creature
hoping that she
will allow access
to a soft warm knee
maybe a cold nose
artfully pressed
against the rise
of soft warm breast
i wonder will she realise
will she instinctively know
shape shifter shape shifter
time for you to go
or maybe just maybe
she'll scratch my head
and let me crawl
to the foot of her bed
ah shape shifter shape shifter
such pure delight
curled up against her
all that warm night
better move quickly
cross the road before
the milk bottles are out
and she closes her door
