Gifts From God

Rules & Correction

"Stay in the kitchen with that sodapop."
"I want you to stay away from that man."
"You're not walking outta this house looking like that."
"That place is off limits to you, young man."
"I want you in bed by 9:00."

Rules, rules, rules!
Why do we need rules?
We're adults now, we don't need our parents
telling us what to do, do we?

That's what most of us would say, myself included.

We must realize, though that we're still children,
children at heart ---

There's always a trace of foolishness in the heart of a child,
in the heart of a human ---

And the only way to remove it is through a firm hand,
a loving hand ---

So, my angel, please do not despise correction,
please do not despise chastisement ---
For the very one that the beholder loves, the beholder corrects!
