The Grand hotel

The Grand hotel

There is a place
I would love to go to
just once in my life time

And that would be
Mackinac island
in Michigan

And if I could
ever go there
I would want
to stay at the
Grand hotel
so that I  could embrace
a part of history

And while I was there
I would want to sit
outside on the
longest porch
in the world
to capture all the beauty
that would stand right in front of me

Because the Grand hotel
isn't an ordinary hotel

It's historical

And it has
has survived
to the present day
and it is still
as magnificent as can be

The Grand hotel opened
for the very first time

On July the tenth of
eighteen eighty seven

And through the years
movies have been filmed there

There are two that I know of

One of them  was filmed in
nineteen forty nine
and it was called

This time for kings

And then
there was another one
that  was filmed there
in the year
of nineteen eighty

And in my mind
It was one of the greatest
romantic movies
that I have ever seen

And it was called

Some where in time
if you haven't seen the movie

Take the time to watch it
because it will be one
you will never forget

Maybe some day
if my prayers are answered

I will be able
to take a romantic journey
to the Grand hotel

And then I will be able to  enjoy
all it has to offer me
from the carriage rides
to a walk by
the light house

And then afterwards
it would be nice to share
a picnic for two

This would be
a dream come true

Because it has
all the romantic possibiltys
that could  lace your mind
with a life time
of beautiful memories

If you have never heard of the Grand hotel

Take the time to
explore all the possibilities
of what it would be like
to vacation
on .Mackinac island
in Michigan

And if by chance
there is a vacancy
stay at the Grand hotel.
