The human heart is destructive,
The human heart is deceitful,
That's what the Ancients say ---
Is the human heart always
thinking evil thoughts, always
preparing for attack?
Is there at least part of the human
heart that wants to love unconditionally
and unselfishly?
Does the human heart really know
how to love that way?
Does the human heart really know
how to love at all?
Can the human heart ever stand
a chance at being pure?
Can the human heart ever stand
a chance at being in love?
The human heart, The human heart ---
Can it ever stand a chance?
