Cleckheaton

How I love the name Cleckheaton
A title rarely matched or beaten
It gives me so much pleasure
I say it often it at my leisure

A mouth full of sound
To taste and roll around
It sounds the very best
Starting deep in the chest

Then trying not to shout
Sonorously slide it out
To hang wondrously there
In the still Yorkshire air

In Metropolitan Kirklees
Another name to tease
Suggesting great chance
Of mystery and romance

I've not ever been around
The splendidly named town
I've been near a time or two
But never passed through

I promise that one day
I'll leave the motorway
And have a look around
That jewel of a town

Maybe even pass right through
If I've nothing else left to do
A title rarely matched or beaten
How I love that name Cleckheaton
