Give me this! Give me that!
All you know is what you want,
Even if it's pulled from a hat.
Can not tell you a thing, you know it all,
Trying to fit your feet in shoes,
You know are too small.
Speed things up, life's going to slow,
Think you are ready for the world
As you run closer to the door.
Jumping into situations,
Thinking that you are ready for the challenge,
"Oops! My friend, you have lost your balance.
Your plate is full, still to trying to eat everything in sight,
You have overran your mouth,
Now you are not up for the fight.
You have trusted in others and lost your soul,
They have left you alone in the streets,
Hungry and bitter and very cold.
No place to run, no refuge, no place to retreat.
You thought you had the situation well in your hands,
Your feet are sore and bleeding
Walking around blind in a foolish man's land.
They flashed what looked good, to the eyes, well pleasing.
The quick and easy life, all up in your face.
But they didn't enlighten you that your soul,
was the price that you must pay.
Love ones tried unsuccessfully to warn you,
That there was nothing new under the sun.
You thought that they were trying to control you,
And take away all of your fun,
Hey! Where are all those fools,
That didn't have a thing to do with your raising?
Filling your head with all of that stuff,
Their mouths were a blazing.
Do they have any advice for your current situation?
You look like a lost soul,
Left at the depot in some train station.
How many people did you hurt?,
To have all of your worthless glory.
I bet if someone see you now,
Your eyes would reveal a different story.
You better backtrack your errors,
Correct the mistakes that you pulled.
Cause one day you are leaving this place,
Make sure that your ticket is paid in full.
