Though I've lived a million life times
and held tomorrow in this hand
you come only in the dreams that are lost
in memories shifting sand.

Each cloud I see it bears your face
the stars they are your eyes
morning dew it brings new tears
the wind it carries sighs.

Your kiss I feel on a flower's petal
your manly scent is in wood
and if it were possible I'd bring you back
my love, if but I could.

The darkness holds a chill for me
and morning she is cruel.
She laughs and taunts me relentlessly
and night time calls me fool.

Yet I can still feel the bitter taste
of sorrow on my tongue.
I recall the wonder of our love
a day when we were young.

I hope your pain is gone at last
if not for me, but you.
Perhaps someday I will find
my pain has vanished, too.

So many words I meant to say
when you were there to hear
are lost on walls and furniture
in the house you loved so dear.

Still I know that when you left
you went so I would be free.
Yet my life means naught
it's filled with misery.

Please don't be angry. Pray let me grieve.
I feel I have that right.
Just stay inside my heart, sweet love
an ever burning light.
