Love though she is elusive extends her hand.
She touches the heart at times, we understand.
It is not in the wanting or needing as much
as it is in the caring and sharing a touch.
Long hours left with loneliness and despair
instills those thoughts that others may not care.
Just beyond the whirlwind of our desires
lies love with the fuel to kindle her fires.
We with our stubborn pride can not see
we reject the thing which might set us free.
Yet love her silent vigil does forever keep
trapped and awakened in the hours of sleep.
Like frightened children we will oft times shun,
be afraid to open the heart and haphazardly run.
Trust the heart in all things which you do
and sweet love will find and sanctify you.
