A baby mockingbird fell from the oak tree
Written by D.A.M

(This is a true story)

A baby mockingbird fell from the oak  tree
and her mommy was  guarding her closely
because her heart had been broken
because she thought her baby girl
would die

But I made sure that mommy wouldn't cry

Because if I can change one life
then I know

I haven't lived
my life in vain

I decided to pick her baby bird  up
and give her a resting place
to save her life

I took her back to my place
and I built her
a nice new warm home
that she could call her own

And I put her cage close
to the oak tree
where she had fallen from

So that I could  give
her a chance to grow up
and become strong
and not feel left alone

Because I made sure
that  she was  next
to the old oak tree
close to her mommy

Some day
when she grows up
I will set her free
so that she can soar and fly
and finally be with her family

So that she wont live
the rest of her life
with a broken heart
