(This is a true story about my Mom and Dad)

They met in a  foreign land

And discovered that
they were
both American

His parents were
from Italy

And her parents
were from Germany

He fought for his country

And she worked for the FBI

My Dad came back
after his tour was done
and he went to college
on the G I bill

My Moms first husband
died from a heart attack
at a very young age

And she never thought that
she would get married again

But she had to
make an important
decision on her own

Because she still
wanted children

So she decided
to leave the FBI
to travel the world
and find a new home

And no one thought
she would make it

But she did

And that's when
she had the opportunity
to meet my future Dad

They both  fell in love
with each other when they met

And it was love at first sight

And then they got married

And after they were married
they tried to have children

And that's when they discovered
that they couldn't have children

So they both decided on adoption
and that's when they adopted me
and I became a  part of there family

And from that day on
they called me there son

And through out there life
they loved me unconditionally

And through the love that
they shared for each other

I discovered how
to love others unconditionally

It was a match made in Heaven
because they loved each other
until the day that they died

Because the love that they
had for each other
was a Heavenly blessing

I do have to say that the lessons
that they taught
me through out there life

Taught me how to love
and to appreciate love
and to respect it completely

Because they taught me
how to love
the old fashion way

They were both great teachers

And they also taught me
how to be compassionate
and understanding too

And I will never forget them
for as long as I live

Because they were both the
greatest
teachers that I ever could have

I am happy that they had
adopted me
and called me there son

And in return I could call
them Mom and Dad

They are both in Heaven now
and there love will live through
me now until the day that I die
