In my dreams you are always next to me

I cannot hear
your voice
and I cannot look
into your eyes
or gently touch
your face
or twirl my fingers
through your hair
or  gently kiss your lips
because your not here
right now

You had to go away
to help your children
to try and straighten them
out like any mother would do

I am so proud of you
and I understand why
you had to go away

This is why you are
so special to me


I just want you to know
that while you are away
that I promise you
that I will be ok

I will miss you
in so many ways

I hope you know
that I will wait for you
because I will always
love you forever and a day

Did you know
that every time
when you go away
that when I finally do
get a chance
to go to sleep at night

That this is when
I am more at peace
then at any other time
when you are away

Because when you go away
this is the only time
when I can start to dream
about you in a special way


And this is when
I begin to hear
your soft voice
all over again
and it is always
refreshing and comforting

Because
I can see you
as bright as day
and I can feel you
right  next to me
in a very special way
and I can  look into your eyes
as I hold your face
in the palm of my hand
and twirl my fingers
through your hair
and I can even smell the fragrance
of your perfume in the air
as we gently
begin to kiss each other
as if you were really  here



Because in my dreams you are
always next to me
And you always will be
until the next time
when you are beside me

Never forget as long as I live
that I will always love you
forever and a day
