to the shores of Tripoli..." If I dont leave to gain freedom
Death will surely conquer over me.
Im forced to live in constant torture
and all my aspirations have been killed
yes, we all must die eventually
so take me to the battle field.
I've lived my life the way they've wanted.
My hopes and dreams are cast to the side.
People constantly critisize my every move
and it makes me want to hide.
But come September 24 there will be no more
they'll no longer repress me.
I wont have to follow their orders any more
because I will be a Marine.
Eight years is a small price to pay
when I think about my out comes advantage.
My family doesn't understand me
and it has come to where I can barely stand it.
Send me off to different places...PLEASE!!!
On the land, in the air, or the sea.
My freedom is coming from my dear country
so, I will serve her faithfully.
In giving myself to the government,
I'm gaining many sisters and brothers
who will put their life on the line for me
because that's how much we care about one another.
Finally, a place where I belong!
and I'll at last determine my destiny...
I'll be PROUD to claim the title
of United States Marine!
