it is sometimes so hard to write down
the pure emotion of the moment,
such as the difficulty to describe
the blending and the mix of colours
of the spreading palette of the sky.
how do you explain what it means
to sit together and share this beauty
to hold this perfect moment
how does one even begin to show the other
how deeply the heart is held
and we can all wax lyrical,
and comment on the hues
but to each person who views it,
that sunset will mean so much more
it will touch each one in so many different ways
that mere words just do not suffice
only the sharing of the moment would
give understanding
the stillness and silence of the moment
the feelings they invoke
sitting together watching, living the second
as the colours change into one another and slowly
dies into the deepening blackness of the night
feeling the pure joy of being alive
in the truth of our last sunset
