Similes of Love
My endorphin levels are up to the sky
Like some good weed, you make me high.
When I'm with you, everything is well.
I'm mystified by your touch, your smell.
This enchantment is a blissful dream
You are the pipe and I, the helpless fiend.
Once two hearts, now ours beat as one
To your loving eyes I tenderly succumb.
I am your groupie, and you, my rock star
Wherever you may roam, I won't be far.
The love you give is so divine
And like the wind, you blow my mind.
It's as if you were one of my necessities
I need you as much as the air I breathe
The light you give needs no expression.
‘cause you'd know how I feel with no confession.
Your tender kiss, your eyes of brown
Remind me of you even when you're not around
And even though we haven't come far yet
You calm my nerves, like a morning cigarette.
When you touch me, I start to perspire
‘cause you light my world like a forest fire.
And I am seldom beset with gloom
You make me glow just like a full moon.
And if it were my own decision
I'd watch you all day like a television.
This is not lust, it is pure love
‘cause you're the only one that I think of
And just with one of your simple looks
My words pour out like an open book.
This is no joke, please understand
I need you eternally to be my man
‘cause the love you give is just too grand
I am truly your number one fan.
I will forever be only yours
your happiness is a cave that I'll explore
‘cause to me loving you is an obligation
Open your arms, I'll run with no hesitation.
If you are the potter, then I am the clay
Squeeze me; bend me, in any way.
One look at you and I begin to smile
Just like a new hair-do, you have style.
I could keep on naming things
That show all the joy that you bring.
