Ethereal Moments The Poetry of Donavon Scott Vinson
Danger In the Night
The sun descends taking it's glorious light from the sleepy town.
The misty veil of night covers the land and the silvery full moon
rises to spread it's cool, ominous light over the land.
People slumber carefree and oblivious to the lurking dangers
hidden in the deep shadows of the night.
When all has become quiet and still I arise from my marble crypt
deep within the moist mist enshrouded ground
of the rotting old cemetery.
A gnawing hunger growls deep within my empty bowels,
so as a shadow upon a pane of glass I stalk the living.
In eerie silence I take my victim
to at last sate my horrible unearthly hunger.
