My Dearest MotherDedicated to Merla, my sister-in-law's mom- By: Shannon Walker During the days of my teenage angst, I know it was a struggle to have me. You did what you needed to do, When you put me in foster care. As a result of your unconditional love I am a better person on account of you. And I understand now why I had to be away from you. I still love you very much and admire you for your sacrifice, My Dearest Mother. Your love for God and all things holy helped you To choose what was best for me by having me, Participate in Heralds and Cadets through our church. This helped me to know that God was watching over us. A mother and daughter team whose love is, Even now, unconditional. I admire you for your wisdom, courage and strength, To know what was best for me. I continue to love you very much and admire you for your sacrifice, My Dearest Mother. You helped others without asking anything back. You gave strength where weakness was abundant. You gave your whole heart to those around you. And you gave encouragement where There was none before your kind words became known. You gave freely as Christ did for mankind. I have always seen love in you too And admire you for your sacrifice, My Dearest Mother. Grandchildren were your prized possessions. More than gold was your family's worth to you. All were surrounded by your love, Compassion, generosity and kindness. All whom knew you wanted to be close to your heart. You gave more to those around you than you really knew. Forgiveness was your ammunition against un-forgiveness. They have love for you very much and admire you for your sacrifice, My Dearest Mother. And I know I am not the only one who will miss you. For there are many who have enjoyed being in your presence. They feel as blessed as I do because of you, And all of them will never forget The impact you had on their lives. They are better because of knowing you. They know love because of you And know how to make sacrifices due to you. The laughter we shared and the joy you gave to me, Having you as my mom was the biggest blessing, I could ever have asked God for. He blessed me when he gave you as a mom for me. He knew you would make the right decisions for me. He knew we needed each other. But I just want you to know this one last thing mom: I will never forget the love I have for you, And I will forever admire you for your sacrifice, My Dearest Mother.
