Ending of Summer

summer scenes photo: Summer day riverfishing.jpg

The sun smiled at me
You see
Told me summer is ending
But I will keep pretending

That summer will stay
It will not go away
It shall not leave yet
I'm not ready to forget

Weather hot and hazy
I'm feeling lazy
Wearing summer clothes
Everyone knows

This is the time of year
We all love to hear
Sounds summer brings
Sweet birds as they sing

I will make summer last
It can't end too fast
I'll laugh at the sun
And have lots of fun

Summer is a time for play
For sure without delay
Summer will be ending
But until then I'll keep pretending
