When my dog passed away

When my dog passed away
over two months ago
I found myself shattered and lost
Because I lost my loyal friend
and my companion
I was heart broken and torn
and couldn't stay
around the house anymore
because I felt so alone
For those of you
who are pet lovers
you will understand
what I have been going through
Because I honestly felt
like I had lost one of my children
and I didn't know what to do
After around the seventh week
I decided that it was time
for me to start healing
I knew in my heart that
this is what my loyal companion
would have wanted me to do
So I started looking around
for a new companion
that I could grow to love
all over again
Then one day
just out of the blue
I found another dog
who I decided to adopt
because he looked just like my dog
that recently passed away
He truly has been a blessing to me
He already had a name of his own
that he has had since the day he was born
And he was truly one of the lucky ones
because the house that he lived in
burned down to the ground
and he lived through it and is still around
So he needed me
just as much
as I needed him
I decided to adopt him
so I would no longer feel alone
because every one
truly does need a best friend
He needed someone to love him
as much as I needed him to love me
I am so thankful that
we were brought together
to explore the world with each other
so that we could
start a whole new journey together
and a whole new life of companionship
to share with each other.
