At random intervals
Tickling the edge of my vision
A flickering light
Of a candle guttering in the wind
Tantalising glimpses
Lure me to my fate
Tempting me to travel this path
Which leads to your door
Yellow- blues and golden bright
This tantalising candlelight
It leads me onward through the night
Until I have the vision in my sight
I'm gripped within its powerful grasp
My breath coming in anticipatory gasps
Fluttering, my heart, leaps in tiny quickening breaths
But am I going towards life or death?
I'm still unsure this path I take
Is this the course of action I need
Will coming to you be the answer I seek?
Am I making a huge mistake?
Time and circumstances
Only they will tell
Meanwhile I am captured
Under the candles alluring spell
