No matter the wind
No matter the rain
Put them together
And I can't quite explain
My agitation and
My nerves in a spin
The two united and
I just can't win.
The most important item
To add to this equation
Is the implement of torture
That makes me see red
The umbrella is
Supposed to be helpful
But a burden
It has to be said.
As soon as I unclip the cover
I start shaking and quivering
In my shoes
I already know
What the darn thing is thinking
And yes,
I'm going to end up bruised.
What feels as wild as a hurricane
The force spins me dizzily and
I almost lose my step
Giddily spinning in a spiral and
Thinking I would rather get wet.
The result is a mangle of metal spokes
Amongst swathes of waterproof fabric
I find myself dangling on the end of this thing
And feeling dangerously maverick!
