MARKET DAYS
A profusion of colour
Marked out like flags
Red, blue and yellow
And some Union Jacks
Market day Friday
Rows of bold stalls
Selling just about everything
From string to frilly smalls
Voices boom out
In frenzied attack
Plying their wares
And they've got the knack
Fabrics for curtains
Socks for your man
Needles and wool
Okay for Gran
CD's and tapes
And games for the kids
Saucepans in orange
With matching shiny lids
Artwork by people
Adept in that line
Lacework and jewellery
And chairs to recline
My favourite boasts fruit
All piled on display
Juicy grapes to yams
And pumpkins on foray
Bargains and gifts
Things for your home
Buckets and blankets
A veritable Utopia to roam
