I feel empty and lost

I feel empty and lost
and my whole world
has been turned upside down
I feel like a scared little child
who has become withdrawn
I say very little anymore
because depression has taken
a mighty hold on me
and I just cant seem to shake it off this time
I lock myself in my room
and I feel safe
But when I step out my door
I am filled with confusion
Because a part of me doesn't
want to live like this anymore
I pray that an angel will hold me
and also embrace me
to let me know that my life
is still worth living for
Because I cannot do it on my own
Its all because of the way
that things have been
going with me lately
due to an unexpected turn of events
that everything has
caused me to turn into
a mere shell
of the man
that I used to be
I feel empty and lost
and my whole world
has been turned upside down
Hopefully a day will come soon
when I wont feel empty and alone
and then things will be
much brighter for me
and then I can finally feel
whole and complete again
