Reading through a few of me poems
I had to acknowledge a thing or two
There have been many sober ones
And plenty of funny ones too
I dunno which is the better
Or which ones I prefer
‘Cos all of them have their merit
And I dunno which ones to air
I have to choose a few
To stick in a compilation you see
‘Cos I thought I'd throw some together
For me friends who are coming after Boxing Day tea
I like to give em summat special
To make their trip a memory
So I thought a couple of me poems
Would help them remember their night with me
But which ones to choose is the problem
Cos there are so many you see
I just don't know which ones to choose
Oh well any! What have I to lose
It's just I didn't wanna depress em ya know
Cos a lot of em are too deep to show
But I'm sure they'll be happy with whatever
As long as my gift makes em feel better
So I'll pick a few at random
And hope they'll be just fine
Just to see their faces light up
When I give em these pressies of mine.
