Christmas eve is almost here

Christmas eve is
almost here
and its that time of year again
Young children
will stop playing
and go to bed really early
without even having to be told
like they normally would
Because they know
that Santa is on his way
and they want to get up
in the early dawn
so that they can be
the first ones to start
waking up everyone
before the coffee
even has a chance to get warm
Because they want to start
opening there presents
one by one
while everyone is watching
