When my father died
it happened in
the blinking of an eye
and I was not there
more or less close by
when it was his time
to go away
But at the time
that his spirit
left his body
I could literally feel
his love flow right through me
like pure raw energy
I think it was his way
of letting me know
that he loved me
because it was his time
to go away
and he didn't want to leave
without letting me know
that his spirit would
always be close by
Because a part of him
will always reside within me
in a loving and unconditional way
It has been eighteen years
since that day
that he left me and my family
I sure do miss him
with every ounce
of my heart and soul
