Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

British Government

You sold our country from underneath us
gave our good name a cross to bear
all that's left… an open doorway
to anyone…   from anywhere.
Now Europe just makes a mockery
British citizens… second best
“Let them come… we'll give them houses…
British citizens get what's left”!
You have no pride in all that's home grown
you sell us short as Europe grows
eventually we'll just be servants
but I'm sure of this you know.
Whatever happened to all there once was…
when an Englishman stood with pride?
Now it seems we're just a passing thought
Of once a greatness… that has long since died!!!
