About once a week a Blue Heron
visits the Woodinville creek
From inside outside I did peek
King of the domain in all its splendor
I in its world just a member
Regally dropped from above to the edge
I peeked out the window through the hedge
On long legs in formal attire
Strode through the water to get higher
Jumped on a rock and boldly stared about
Where when I need one a camera I did shout
Wasn't until it was gone I remembered the cellphone
One day a deer, a eagle, bear a slick Bobcat.
With modern technology no camera do I lack
