DESTINATIONS - From There To Here and Here To There
At First Sight
He looked down at her.
She looked up at him.
For a moment, all the World
Stood still.
Both were lost
In the depths of each other's eyes
In the nearness of first touch.
When they remembered
To breathe again
And voices finally were found
He laughed, then said
Something about being careful
On rainy, slippery floors.
She giggled, embarrassed a tad
And said
How lucky for her he had been there
To keep her safe.
He told her his name
Suggested that they sit a bit.
Have some coffee
Just to make sure she was
OK....
You know.
She told him her name
Smiled, replied
How very much she would like
To do that very thing.
They talked and talked
It seemed for hours
Until, at last
They each just had to go.
He kissed her hand.
He got her number.
She thought, this isn't goodbye
It's really hello.
Somewhere in that Time
And Space
Where the Souls of future generations
Wait for their turn
Each observed the meeting of the two
With joy and in contentment
For the first chapter
In the story of their own lives
Was now
Being written.
