The Lack of A Kiss

Sanity slips away as I think
and I think, AND I THINK...
and everytime I'm on the brink of a resolution
thoughts of you encompass my brain once again
and so, I sink.
Sanity slips away as I wish
and I wish, AND I WISH...
and everytime you say you've missed me
I'll question it...
because the last time we were together
we didn't even kiss...
And I'm thinking and I'm wishing
and I'm hoping and I'm dreaming
that I'm not in denial
or looking at this wrong
You say those beautiful words
(Oh, you know those three)
but your touch, your embrace, your gaze--
dearheart, EVEN THE WAY YOU SLEEP!--
plus the fact that you FAILED to kiss me
makes everything quite clear...

I'm not the person of whom I was once before.
I cannot feel heartbreak or even pain anymore.
DO YOU NOT SEE WHAT I'M
THINKING, WISHING, HOPING, DREAMING???
or perhaps you're simply binded
by the roadblocks in your mind and
you tell yourself that in due time
I'll finally admit defeat...

I hope and dream a wish
this wish that i could get
past us, past this...
and then proceed to think.
Because in the blink of an eye,
...NO LONGER DID I SINK...

And I'm finally letting go.
Moving on and saying, "So long".
Thanks to that lack of a kiss...
