On rocking the cradle
Where Gay parents
Make a stand on love
And the limits of society…
A little boy
Just 6 years old
Feels sorry for his classmates
Because they only have one
Mommy and daddy
And he has two of each…
“Poor guys”
how do they do it with just two?
And the audience breaks out
Into laughter.
I couldn't agree more
Out of the mouth of babes…
A gay parent wouldn't
Ostracize their straight child
But what would the straight
Christian fundamental parent
do to their gay child?
The ideas and boundaries
Of love and its limits are
Being challenged at every front…
I will make love to my girlfriend
As her husband lovingly watches
Or joins,
And we are betraying no one
Just embracing that our hearts
Are larger than we are programmed,
Are conditioned
To believe.
When four gay parents
Of two children
Can't imagine how
Two people
Get it done alone
We are breaking
Paradigms
Just as the four minute mile
And the sonic barrier
Were once broken
And never thought
Imaginable before it was done.
Those who are the first
Pave the way
For the rest of us…
So come swim in the ocean
Of more than is possible
Its work
That's true
