The Dinner Table

I can still remember
when we used to
sit down at the dinner table
and we would spend
hours on end talking to each other
about anything and everything
There were times
when we would laugh
and there were times
when we would cry together
and then there were times
when we didn't take
things to seriously
and we played a game
of cards at the dinner table
You have been gone
for several years now
and when ever
I sit down
at the dinner table
there are moments
when I find myself
thinking about you
and all the beautiful memories
that we shared together
when you were still here
