The brother that I used to know

I remember when
we were really young
when you and I
truly got along
Because we really did
have a lot of fun
We would build forts
out of lime stone bricks
And there would be days
when we would fly
our balsa wood air planes
or our kites in the sky
And then there were
other days when we
would climb
on top of the house
over and over again
when no one was watching us
and we would jump
on to a palm tree leaf
and swing on down
to bounce off of the trampoline
Rainy days were always
a lot of fun with you too
Because we would play
with our electric train set
and we never ran
out of things to do
But you know
the one thing
that I remember the most
that I will never forget
is how well we got along back then
It's a shame that we
grew apart from each other
as we started getting older
Because I truly do miss
the brother
that I used to know
I really wish we didn't
live so far apart now
Because it would be nice
to share all the memories
with you all over again
and also start building new ones
