When I was a young man

True story
When I was young man
I couldn't see everything
that I could have seen
with a clear mind
and I made many poor decisions
Because most of the time
I was way to busy drinking
and partying to actually see what
was happening to me
Then one day out of the blue
I finally woke up
and I looked at everything
with a whole different
point of view
and I decided that I wasn't cut out
to be drinking anymore
That's when I finally gave it all up
and I no longer drank from a plastic cup
and it has changed my life completely
And what's so amazing
ever since I quit
is that I have been happier
then I have ever been
because I no longer sleep
until the days end
And for a change
it has been so nice to be able to
wake up in the early morning
and also being able to
watch the sun as it begins to rise
Because it has been a complete blessing
ever since I made that decision
that day to quit drinking
