I found myself going through reflections and memories

I found myself going through
reflections of memories
and all the happy times
that I used to spend
with my mom
at the dinner table
when she was still around
And there were many
occasions
when we would sit
down at the dinner table
after she cooked a new meal
from a recipe that she found
in the newspaper
And as always
when it was time to eat
we would both look at each other
and she would always ask me
if the dinner was a keeper or not
And I would always be
honest with her
and I would also ask her
what she thought of the new recipe to
and usually we both felt the same way
about certain foods
Some recipes would be saved
and the others would
end up in the lost and found
never to be eaten again
I have to admit
I sure did enjoy those days
when we would laugh and
enjoy our time at the dinner table
Because every meal
was a new discovery
that we could both share together
