Driving around town used to be

Driving around town
used to be something that we
all could do when ever we wanted to
because we could afford to go
where ever we wanted to go
And now driving seems to
have turned into a luxury
Because prices are getting
way out of hand
and it is affecting
the common man
all over the world
I have always said there is
a solution to every problem
and that problems can be worked out
But this is one problem
that could have been
resolved many years ago
when we had to deal with
our first oil crisis
But because they didn't
stick to a plan back then
each and every one of us is suffering
and now we are beginning to wonder
if we are heading into another depression
I know one thing for sure
if something isn't done really soon
that we as a world will
have civil riots on our hands
without an ending in sight
I hope it never has to come to this
and that something can be resolved
so that each and every one of us
in the world can rest be assured
that something like this
will never have to happen
to any of us ever again
