Death of day came quietly upon us
A veil thrown over sunlit eyes
And there in the corner, a smiling figure
A pleasure beneath smouldering skies
Delinquent dreams of running at random
You and I, scurrying fervently at race
Glowering clouds infiltrated the sunshine
Sidelined stars awaited their heavenly grace
Night time was our velvet destination
Black canvas where painted a silvering moon
We stood and looked high, a star in far distance
Our destination, our happiness, wilfully strewn
Palms pressed together we welcomed the eve
Walking together, joyous we breathe
Glittering o'er our heads, a northern light rose
If only this moment could be captured and froze
