Behind closed doors

You have been living
like a cocoon
and you have been
so wrapped up in
in your own
imaginary world
where you only feel safe
behind closed doors
But for the longest time
you have been
ready to break free
from the curse
that has haunted you
most of your adult life
Because you can no
longer let life pass you by
more or less be afraid
of the world outside your door
Because you are
ready to be free
from the only world that
you have ever known
So that you can soar and fly
and be as free as a butterfly
so that you can be able to embrace
a brand new world outside your door
amongst the living
