The steps we take in life
will eventually lead us
to the stairway and
through the gates of Heaven
where none of us will
ever have to suffer again
Many of our loved ones
may have already gone
But they are never alone
and neither are we
Because everyone
that has passed on
especially our loved ones
and our closest friends
are all watching over us now
and waiting patiently
for our return home
We may never know
the day or the time
or the week
when it will be our turn
But that time will come
just like it will for everyone
and when it does
it will be a time for a celebration
Because all of our loved ones
who have already passed on
will welcome us back home
through the gates of Heaven
with love and open arms
