Blessed by the gift of adoption(True story)

From the time that
I was taken away
from my birth family
Only a couple of months
had gone by
before the state could
find me a suitable family
that desperately wanted
a child of there own
Because they were
unable to have children
and this is when the state
allowed me to be
adopted by them
I was four months shy
of my first birthday
and I was given to
a wonderful family
that was truly kind and caring
and they loved me unconditionally
And as the years went by
I realized just how blessed
I really was
Because I was given to a family
that truly loved me all the days
of there lives
Because they wanted me
and made me feel
like I was one of there own
I look back at it all now
and I realize that I was
one of the fortunate children
that was blessed by the gift of adoption
When there were so many
other children out there
in the world who weren't as lucky
as I was and they grew up as orphans
And I realize that
I could have been one
of those children
that could never have a place
that they could call home
And for a short time
for two months I was lost
but then The Lord
made sure that I was found
Both my parents have
have earned there wings
and they are angels in Heaven now
And as long as I live
I will always know in my heart
that miracles really do happen
Because a miracle happened
to me that day when I was
just four months shy of
my first birthday
Because I was blessed
with the greatest gift
that I could ever receive
through the gift of adoption
Because God loved me enough
to find me a suitable family
that truly could love me completely
and for that I will forever be grateful
