ALOHA

ALOHA

Rhythm forms a beat within the warm tropic sun
She paints in elegant gestures, a sultry pretty one
Her hands weaving tales from a story in her mind
A non spoken missive, a message so entwined
_______________________

She tells a story of Laka, the mistress of the dance
A chant for meditation, a ceremonial trance
Silent tales of Pele, the goddess of flaming fire
A tale of Hi'iaka when healing is the desire
_______________________

Her hands tell of winds that would circle all about
When a King won his victory and how he did shout
Gracefully giving honor to the goddess of the seas
Swaying side to side a gentle whispered breeze
_______________________

A murmuring of the heart, a religion to the serious
Non verbal portraits, of orphic things mysterious
Dog toothed anklets to be adorned by the males
Stamping out a rhythm, this dance of silent tales
