I found myself thinking about
all the wonderful people
that I have met through poetry
And how I have been profoundly
touched by so many of them
through there words
and there kind and caring thoughts
and through there own experiences
that they have gone through in there lives
And I know that if we lived closer
that I would open up my door to them
And I would welcome them
into my home for coffee or tea
Because I would enjoy the company
that I could share with some really good people
Unfortunately most of them
live so far away
But at least we can all
keep in touch with each other
and be able to share our thoughts
together here in the poetry community
Because when you think about it
it is like a second home away from home
