The twilight hour
Darkens my soul
Blind I wander
On a path of black shadows
Stumbling in ways
I do not know
Ensnaring, enticing me
Towards endings
I can only dream of
The garishness of reality
Holds me back from
Following foolishness
I've built one too many bridges
Soldered one more iron bar
Which cage me in stagnating safety
So once more I hold back from walking
Within the gaily lit shadows I see before me
Too many lurking dangers hide
Wrapped in candy striped designs
Their ways are not mine.
