Ever-Present Help
From wilderness to barren land,
Or anywhere that you may stand;
Anyplace that you put your feet,
There is no need for to retreat.
Wherever God wills that you tread,
He assures that you will be fed;
The Lord ensures you will not thirst,
He assures you will not be cursed.
Whether by a river or lake,
Our Lord God will not forsake;
There is no need to cry and wail,
The Lord does not want you to fail.
So take it to heart and be strong,
The agony will not prolong;
Although it seems the chips are down,
There is no need to wear frown.
Let His Book of Law fill your heart,
Flowing from your lips to impart;
Thinking of it both night and day,
Never enticed about to stray.
Be of good courage and be strong,
It is to God that you belong;
For your Father truly does care,
And is always willing to share.
