His final hour

An older man knew
his life was almost over
Because he could
barely see his own shadow
And he knew that it was time
to start getting things in order
So that he could be prepared
to face his final hour
He took a moment to reflect
on all the wonderful memories
as he dotted his I's and he crossed his t's
So that nothing would be left undone
And then he sat back in his chair
with his arms crossed
wearing his best suit
and he said his prayers
as he watched the
last granules of sand
as they continued to fall
Because some how he knew
when the last granule of sand would fall
that his life as he knew it would soon be over
