When you are away
and not here with me
There is a part of me
that tends to have difficulty
From the moment that I wake up
until I finally lay my head down
and I go to sleep
Because your not next to me
And this is when I take a moment
to close my eyes
And I begin to think
about all the wonderful
memories that you have
shared with me when you
were still here with me
And then I open up my eyes
And I remind myself
How lucky I have been
to have you in my life
for all these years
Because you are truly
a part of me
And no one can ever take that away
Because I will continue to love you
forever and a day
