Put me to sleep
That I may dream
The dreams I dare
To see with
Images of worlds
Filled with beauty
And strangeness
That is familiar
Only there
And cry upon waking
To be torn
From such beloved
Beauty there.
Put me to sleep
That I may dream
And fly without
Restraint through
Golden skies
And touch the sea
Like the birds
To skim the clouds
And dodge
Skycars with glee
As the alarm clock
Drags me back
To earthly bound
Things.
Put me back to sleep
That I may dream
Of wonders
This world only
Dares imagine
Of creatures
And cultures
Of technologies
And magicks
Normal there
And dull here
But in books
Or movies.
Let me go back to sleep
That I may dream
Of the answers
To riddles this
World is dying to know
That I may solve
Our troubled woes
Through the languages
Of dreams
Who know all
And speak in dimensions
We only dare
To dream.
