Memories(True story)

Just the other day
I came across
some old pictures
of my Dad and my Mom
when they had taken
me to Galveston
for the very first time
And for some reason
the pictures brought
back many memories
Because
I can still remember
taking my first steps
as we started walking
along the shore line
with our feet sinking
in the sand
as we all started
looking for sand dollars
and sea shells and other
treasures that we could find
And it is utterly amazing
that after all of these years
that I can still remember
all these wonderful memories
from a different place in time
Because it makes me realize
just how much I have missed them
since they have both been gone
But at least I still have
A life time of memories
of all the wonderful times
that I was able to spend
with them
that will never be forgotten
for as long as I am around
