Not very long ago(Sad)

Not very long ago I used to close my doors
and I would close all of my curtains
And all I would listen to were the sounds of silence
or I would watch television or listen to the radio
And I would hardly go anywhere unless I had to
And then one day I couldn't handle it anymore
And I grabbed my keys and walked out the door
And I went down the street to a local store
And I started talking to people that I didn't even know
And as the months went by I was able to get closer
to the people that I had originally started talking to
And to this day I am glad
that I was finally able to come out of my shell
And now I am so thankful that I have some friends to talk to
Because I no longer have to live in silence anymore
Because the good Lord gave me
the inner strength that day
to let go of my fears so that
I could finally walk out my door
