It has been two years since
my dog passed away
And tonight for some reason
While I was sleeping
I was given the opportunity
for him to come back to visit me
in my dreams
It only lasted for a brief moment
And yet I was so startled
and utterly surprised to see him
And right before I woke up
I was able to hug him
and call out his name
And I am so thankful
and grateful for that
Because I sure have missed
him since he has been gone
Because
He was my companion
and also my best friend
